Bastille day in Bènodet

We stayed in Bénodet for Bastille day, we found an anchorage just by the mouth of river Odet. It wasn’t perfectly sheltered which made it a pretty rolly anchorage but the winds weren’t too strong and we felt confident with our anchor and sand seabed.
We … or Mike spent half a day successfully swapping around the alternator which had stoped charging the batteries.
The boys enjoyed the beach, especially as it had a raft with diving platform. We also found another British couple with a gorgeous dog ‘Dotty’ who they both enjoyed visiting.
Bénodet puts on a spectacular fireworks display and free music concert for Bastile day so after a picnic on the beach we went to soak up some atmosphere at the packed concert before heading out to watch the fireworks on the dingy. It has to be the best view we’ve ever had of fireworks, they reflected off the water and lit up the sky.
We got back to Starfish around midnight and although the boys slept through we had another fairly uncomfortable rolly night but managed to get up early and get the boat ready to leave.
We found three starfish had settled on the anchor as we pulled it up to leave for our next stop.. Quiberon.
