We made it to La Rochelle!
We went under our first bridge—not as daunting as we’d expected, probably because we were more worried about losing steering than the clearance height. Thankfully, we made it to the old marina smoothly.
La Rochelle is a beautiful historic city bustling with life from street performers, ice cream, food markets I think every night there was some sort of live music event.
Although a little tense with desperate seaking a replacement seal for or steering ram, endless visits to chandleries, garages and Google searches but finally finding, fitting and fixing was worth it.
We saw an amazing luminosity light show at Saint-Louis Cathedral and the boys found a kid boat so had fun fishing with magnets , para cording and scootering around the city.
Although slightly expensive and stressful at times we enjoyed the delights of being in a marina after nearly three weeks on anchor.
